Grid scale storage, delivered on a lorry.
The Pramac BSC range is a containerised battery system for large industrial sites, stalled grid connections and energy trading. Up to 2,258 kWh and 1,080 kVA in a single 20ft container. On site in days, not quarters. Supplied and supported in the UK by Generator Pro.
The Pramac BSC makes sense when the numbers get serious:
Industrial sites with multi-MW loads and big peak charge exposure
Locations where a grid upgrade has been refused, delayed or quoted at a number the board won’t sign off
Projects that need to earn revenue from grid services or energy arbitrage
Temporary or redeployable storage tied to a development programme
Pramac BSC specifics, without the spec sheet
Two container formats. Same in-house Pramac engineering.

10 ft format
BSC MAX 10ft
540 kVA on-grid (PRO: 450 kVA backup), 1,129 kWh per container. Footprint 3.17m × 2.44m × 2.90m, ~14 t. C4H corrosion rated, IP55* (under evaluation), 2×10.2 kW cooling on battery side.

20 ft format
BSC MAX 20ft
Up to 1,080 kVA, 2,258 kWh per container. Twice the energy of the 10ft in roughly twice the footprint, for sites with bigger arbitrage windows or capacity-market obligations.
From order to operational in weeks
Site and grid assessment
Generator Pro confirms the footprint, the grid connection route, and the revenue or savings model before anyone commits.
Delivered and positioned
The Pramac container arrives on a low loader and is craned onto the pad. Cable trenches and auxiliaries run in parallel.
Commissioned and handed over
G99 and G100-compliant grid code work, EMS configuration and handover training.
Where bill savings and grid income come from
A Pramac BESS on a UK commercial site has four routes to paying for itself. Most of them start the moment you switch it on, not after a payback period.
Cut peak demand charges
Most UK commercial tariffs charge a premium between 4pm and 7pm on winter weekdays. This is known as the DUoS red band. Discharging from the battery during those windows shifts your draw out of the high-rate band.
Capacity Market revenue
National Grid runs annual auctions (T-1 and T-4) paying assets to stay available for grid stress events. A qualified Pramac BESS earns a fixed monthly capacity payment for being on standby.
Get the right price for your PV
Without storage, exported solar pays a fraction of import price under SEG. With a battery on site, you keep that energy and discharge it through the evening shift.
Flexibility services
DNOs and the Balancing Mechanism increasingly pay site batteries for short-notice flexibility through schemes like DFS, Local Flexibility Markets and the BM. Income on top of bill savings.
Which mix applies to your site depends on your tariff, your existing solar, and whether you opt to enter the Capacity Market.
We work that out as part of the site survey before any commitment.
Proven kit, UK support
Pramac
Engineers the BSC MAX in house, from cells to container cladding. Air cooled, aerosol fire suppression, 7,300 cycles at 95% DoD, scalable from 1,129 kWh to 2,258 kWh.
Generator Pro
Authorised Pramac dealer in the UK. Site surveys, installation arranged to suit your site, and ongoing support via maintenance contract or adhoc service calls. All work fully G99 and G100-compliant.
Warranty
10 years product, 10 years performance, the longest in the Pramac range.
A manufacturer skips a grid upgrade
Borri, an Italian UPS manufacturer in Arezzo, needed more power for a new production line. The local grid upgrade would have taken too long. Pramac installed a BSC 20ft container delivering 1,056 kW and 2,258 kWh, coupled with the Pramac EMS. The system peak shaves daytime demand, arbitrages energy across the day, and let Borri keep its build programme on schedule without a single change to the incoming grid connection.

Straight answers to the questions we get asked first
How long does installation take?
Most Pramac indoor and outdoor systems are commissioned within two to four weeks of delivery. Container systems are often faster because there’s less site work.
How much space do I need?
A Pramac indoor 109 kWh rack needs roughly a single phone box footprint. An outdoor cabinet sits on a pad about 1.3m by 1.4m. A 20ft container needs a concrete pad the length of a shipping container. We confirm exact dimensions during the site survey.
Will it work with my existing solar or backup generator?
Yes. Pramac kit ties into most solar inverters and generator controllers through standard Modbus TCP and REST interfaces, and the Pramac Smart Energy Controller coordinates everything automatically.
What happens if something fails?
You call Generator Pro. We can cover you via an ongoing maintenance contract or handle adhoc service calls as they come up. Pramac warranty covers product for a minimum of five years and battery performance for ten; the BSC MAX container range carries ten years on both.
